What happens if we have poor weather conditions on our wedding day?

I know that it is very important for you to have memories that you can keep for your special day so no matter the weather conditions, I know we can capture some beautiful photos. But we can always discuss about it if you have any particular concerns. 🙂

What happens if we have poor weather conditions on our scheduled portrait photography day?

I am always happy to reschedule your portrait photography session (given 24 hour notice minimum) if the weather is looking particularly bad, such as an unbearable heatwave or pouring rain. We'll simply find another day that suits us both in terms of availability.

Do you edit your photos?

Yes, all of the photos delivered to you are professionally edited. Therefore I do not provide RAW files to make sure all of the photos delivered are in the artistic form and high quality.

How do I book?

To book me, you can simply give me a call, message me on my website here, or send me an email to check if I’m available on your date. If so, we can arrange a time to catch up face-to-face if you like, so we can get to know each other a little better. To lock me in and secure your booking a non-refundable deposit is required, and the digital/paper contract agreeing to my Terms & Conditions must be submitted to make sure your booking is confirmed.

Do you work public holidays?

I don’t work on New Year’s Eve (31/12), New Year’s Day (01/01), the Easter long weekend, Christmas Eve (24/12), and Christmas day (25/12). And you can check with me if I am available on other public holidays as there will be some days when I choose not to work public holidays, so that I can spend the time with my family and friends. 🙂

What payment methods do you accept?

You can make your payments via bank transfer. Cash or bank cheque are also accepted, but not preferred.

How long will it take to receive my photos back?

I want to get your photos back to you in as timely a manner as possible, but also understand how important it is to do things properly. I provide a sneak peek of your photos within a few business days of your shoot, if you're happy for me to share them on my website/Facebook page/Instagram. But if you prefer that your photos remain private, I will respect that too. The remainder of your photos will be edited within 4-8 weeks, with printing of products taking an additional average of 1-5 weeks.

How long do you keep a copy of our photos?

I will keep a backed-up copy of your photos for a minimum of 12 months, following your shoot date. After this time there is no guarantee that I will have a copy of all of your photos if you lose yours. Though I do try to keep an archive of all photos on local hard-drives, please make sure you keep a backup copy of your photos somewhere safe too.

Why do I need to pay a deposit?

The deposit/booking fee paid protects both you and the photographer. You will have your shoot date and package price confirmed in writing, and the photographer will have a guarantee that the booking will be honored. Your deposit will cover the standard running costs that would otherwise cause the business to run at a loss in the event of a cancellation. Photographers may turn down several other clients to keep your date free after booking, with no booking fee a cancelled booking would result in a more than sustainable loss of income.

When is the final payment due?

Your final payment is due 5 business days (1 week) before your photo shoot, and payment for wedding is due 2 weeks before the wedding date.

I need to cancel my wedding or photo shoot, what happens to my deposit?

If you need to cancel your booking and don't intend to reschedule, your deposit is forfeit. And if you already paid the remaining payment of the full amount, the remaining payment will be refunded to you within 2 months. But if you don’t notify your cancelation to JC Wu Photography at least 5 business days prior to the wedding or photo shoot, it will result in a cancellation fee. JC Wu Photography reserves the right to determine the amount of the cancellation fee.

How did your name/logo come from?

I am so glad that you asked. As some of you already know that my actual name is "Jiexi Wu", but it is too hard for some of you to pronounce. So I decided to make it more simple by using the first letter of my name and the first letter of my nick name "Cici", and together "JC" sounds like my English name "Jessie". And here it comes to my business name "JC Wu Photography".

And for the logo, I used the olive branches which symbolize the "peace", and the heart for "love". For God is the peace and love. I am so blessed that I can do the things I love, because of Him. 🙂
